Overdog is led by Chey Loveday, a statistical geneticist and computational biologist. Its research programme, ORBIT, brings together AI behaviour, statistics and mathematics.
Overdog develops research methods and public statistical and formal tools relevant to AI runtime assurance. Its CARF implementation remains private, experimental and pre-deployment.

The measurement discipline predates Overdog.
Prior scientific record
Co-author of more than 70 peer-reviewed papers in statistical genetics and cancer genomics, with more than 5,000 citations as of August 2026, prior to Overdog. The full record is on Google Scholar and ORCID; a curated selection is pending.
Public software and outputs
ExactCIs provides design-aware confidence intervals; tre-airlock is a formal release-boundary demonstrator. Paper I v1.0.0 is a public mathematical paper and source release, not an asserted peer-reviewed publication. Scope and status are recorded in the outputs catalogue.
Current research programme
CARF studies tool-using AI behaviour; statistics studies exact and sequential inference; Erdős Basecamp develops mathematical representations and proofs. Their connection is a research hypothesis, not an established general correspondence.
The domain changed; the standards of evidence did not.
In high-dimensional genetics data, batch effects, confounding, measurement error and analytical choices can mimic discoveries. AI interaction logs likewise entangle behaviour, system configuration, stochastic variation and pipeline artefacts. The methods do not transfer wholesale. What carries across is controlled comparison, explicit assumptions, validation, uncertainty, reproducibility and replication where feasible: distrust the exciting observation until the boring checks pass.
